HELL in the world. That's what I can say.
Imaging you wake up and head to your pc and start working for the L/P (lesson plan) you will need today or for the following days, right after you get your tea/coffee (anything you use to wake your brain up).
And here your are. Your day as a cram school teacher starts (in Taiwan).
I really need to mention, not in all the cram school, all brands/chains, even if same chain may not have same situation due to their different ways which the manager leads or uses.
Parents nowadays complain to teachers because their kids don't get good grades.
WOW, before (at least until my era) that issue would goes to the students themselves.
If the students don't even preview/review, why would the parents expect and even complain??? Seriously?
The company I work at now, even has the policy like... "Make-Up Class."
Which means, as a teacher in this company, you need to spare your extra time (e.g. your office hour) to have a class for the student (ya, most of time only ONE at a time) who was absent for previous class.
Reason of being absent??? Go out for a trip with family, school's exam is coming soon, caught a cold,
...or "we have something to do." Yeah, the parents just said that, and then you need to find extra time just because of the "something to do" shXt.
Furthermore, I feel like parents don't really know their kids well.
Probably because most of time, their kids were put into different cram school / talent school, they don't need to / have a chance to know their kids... (haha, funny)
Their kids show the real side of them when they are in front of the teachers, and show the angel side when their parents are standing in front of them. Tzz.
I have been in Germany for a short 3-month language school.
The students there are usually adults already. They pay for what they want.
So, they appreciate it and cherish it. Rather than those kids who come to the cram school unwillingly.
When I was in Germany, I saw how hard-working the students can be, and how enthusiasm a teacher can be.
I still keep in touch with my German teacher. We also talk about being a teacher here and there.
She felt there was a such biggggg difference. Indeed!!
Bad news is, I still have an unfair contract, and I need to work till Sep., 2016... (sigh)
Good luck for everyone.
Have a nice day/night.
Cheers.
